COURSE OVERVIEW

Aims                                               

To give participants the skills and knowledge of Advanced First Aid needed to be able to deal with the injuries most likely to occur in everyday life. Upon successful completion of practical and theory assessment a certificate of Proficiency is issued, valid for 2 years. This course provides a standard grounding in first aid and will qualify you to perform life support skills. It satisfies training requirements across many industries.

  • Describe principles of first aid and how to Place a casualty in the recovery position (demonstration and practice)

  • Identify loss of consciousness and manage fracture (demonstration & practice) and the treat for poisoning, bites, stings and eye injuries
  • Understand the requirements and importance of A First Aider and how it differs from Urban First Aid and the need for good preparation and assess a casualty at Primary and Secondary levels according to Standard
  • Understand the need for history taking, documentation and on-going assessment
  • Identify need for preparation for rescue and extrication and understand the consideration of emotional factors
  • Recognize types of respiratory distress and the signs and symptoms of respiratory distress
  • Carry out on-going care in a remote area and Assess and manage a casualty
  • State 6 causes for respiratory distress and identify and describe 6 signs and symptoms of respiratory distress
  • Define choking and state management and croup and state management

Examination

We have sets of EXAMS for each of the package in addition to practical assignments which you must pass before certification. Pass mark is 50%. If you fail any of the exams, you would be required to re-sit it at the cost N2000 per paper.

The course fee covers: registration, examination fee, tuition, course materials, tea break and lunch break. After payment and registration, you will receive the complete course material ahead of the training.

Duration, Delegates and Responsibilities

The duration of the course is 3 days. The course is delivered in our Full Multi-Media, Air-conditioned Training Laboratory. The course can also be delivered as an in- House Training Program in your premises. For in-house training, the minimum number of persons required per class is 6 persons, if you are training a class that is less than 6 persons, your payment may cover payment for 6 persons.

 

We shall execute the program as presented in this schedule with our materials, equipment and instructors, and issue certificates to participants at the end of the program. If the training is holding at our Training Laboratory, we shall serve tea/coffee with snacks and lunch during the program.

 

If you want the training to hold in your company premises, you are to provide the training hall and serve tea/coffee with snacks and lunch during the program. If the training location is outside Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, an additional cost to cover logistics at such a location will be added to the total cost unless provided or specific arrangement is made by the company.
