SCOPE OF WORK

An Oil Spill Contingency Plan (OSCP) is a predetermined action document prepared for oil spill containment and response with the approval of the regulating authority. It is an important working document that identifies the oil spill risks, the appropriate response strategies, the resources required to submit a response and the training and exercises necessary to ensure practicality and effectiveness of the plan. It provides guidelines to quickly, safely, and effectively respond to spills.

The plan will be prepared as a good management practice and to meet the requirements under the Environmental Guidelines and Standard for the petroleum Industry in Nigeria (EGASPIN) 2002, Oil Spill recovery, Clean-up, remediation, and damage assessment Regulations, 2011 and the Oil Spill and Oily Waste Management Regulations,   2011. The Plan will also be prepared to meet the requirements of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA).
