COURSE OVERVIEW

NEBOSH qualifications with high pass rate globally are provided by Safeguard RTL, a NEBOSH Accredited Learning Partner 1332 with SILVER STATUS. You can join our Nebosh IC Virtual Class or the Distance Learning Program from any location in the world. You can also write your Open Book Exam (OBE) and Scenario-based Risk Assessment from the comfort of your home or workplace without the need to travel out of your location. EXAMINATIONS

Examination registration

Learners must be registered before they can take an examination. All examination registrations must be completed by Safeguard RTL as the accredited learning partner.

Examination entry confirmation

Once we have registered you to a NEBOSH Health And Safety Management for Construction (International), NEBOSH will send you a Confirmation of Registration email that includes your learner number, and important information relating to your examination. Examination Format

Unit IC1 Managing Construction Safely

NOTIONAL LEARNING HOURS

For this qualification you should plan your study around 68 taught hours, 40 hours private study and 8 hours on assessments. A full-time block release course would be expected to last for a minimum of five working days and a part-time day release course would be spread over at least four weeks.

LOGIN DETAILS FOR IC1 OPEN BOOK EXAMINATIONS

Following receipt of your Confirmation of Registration email, NEBOSH will send you a further email containing your Username and Password for the NEBOSH online examination platform. If you have not received this email, please remember to check your spam folders. If you have previously sat an online examination with NEBOSH, you will not receive new a new login. You will be able to access the online examination platform using your previous login details. Examination starts at 11AM UK Time. Examination is slated to hold for 48 hours.

CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION FOR IG1 OPEN BOOK EXAMINATIONS

Once we register you to an open book examination (OBE), NEBOSH will send you a Confirmation of Registration email that includes your learner number, and important information relating to your OBE. Please ensure that you check your name is spelt correctly and report this to us immediately if any changes are required. If you did not receive this email on the specified date, please remember to check your spam folders or contact us immediately.

EXAMINATION RESULTS

As part of the qualification’s assessment requirements, you are mandated to complete a Virtual Closing Interview before your result is released. All results for assessments taken in English (including those for the practical application) should be received within 50 working days from the date of the examination or submission of assignment. The specific date is written on your examination entry confirmation.

Your qualification grade is based only on the result from the question paper (Unit IC1). The qualification grade is based on the result from Unit IC1 as follows: Distinction: 75 marks or higher Credit: 65 - 74 marks Pass: 45 - 64 marks

When you have completed the unit, you are normally considered to have completed the whole qualification. You will then receive a qualification parchment within 20 working days of your final successful unit. You will only receive individual Unit certificates at an additional cost on written request to Nebosh.

RE-SITTING UNIT(S)

You may re-sit a unit assessment if:

• you are ‘Referred’ (i.e., don’t pass); or
• you want to retake a Unit to get a higher grade.

There is no limit to the number of times you can re-sit unit(s) within the five-year period. Re-sit marks are not capped. If you want to try to improve your grade in a Unit, you need to tell NEBOSH in writing within 20 working days of the declaration date of your successful unit.

PROFESSIONAL BODY RECOGNITION

Holders of the NEBOSH Health And Safety Management for Construction (International) are entitled to:

• Associate membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT & RESOURCES

In course of your studies, you’ll be required to participate in various types of formative assessments such as classwork, groupwork and syndicate sessions, workbook, OBE take-home assignments, IC1 mock examination and risk assessment. PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION

Cash payment is not allowed. Payment in any convenient instalment is allowed starting with a minimum of 50% of the total training fee before receipt of training materials, however candidate must complete payment in full 3 days before class start date.

You can join our NEBOSH WEL Virtual Classroom or the distance learning program from any location globally and write your Practical Risk Assessment from the comfort of your home and workplace without the need to travel out of your location.

Training Modes

Physical Classroom

• Safeguard physical classroom study allows you to get away from the distractions from workplaces and homes to enable concentrate on your training until completion.
• It provides learners a great opportunity to condense their study within the training the days compared to our Distance Learning Program which can be studied over a relatively longer period.
• The classroom setting allows learners to learn in our safe, quiet, clean multi-media training laboratory, away from the noise and pressures of their work or their homes.
• Again, learners could be large which allows the classroom environment to provide the important “human touch” that teaches learners how to interact physically with one another in a professional, productive and cooperative way which is often missing in distance learning program.
• The course fee cover training materials, tutorials, revision class, mock examination, main examination, in addition to tea break and lunch break.

Live Virtual Classroom

• If you have the time for classroom study but you are not available to join our classroom session due to distance or location, then our Live Virtual Class is your best alternative.
• Our live virtual class is easy to follow and can be completed within the same time as the physical classroom. Learners can join remotely and learn ‘live’ online with a tutor just as they would in a classroom.
• You get all the benefits of structured classroom learning but with the convenience of the digital world, studying where you like. Our learners can remotely join the virtual class from any location in the world through live video conferencing with the Zoom Technology using a PC, laptop, tablet or a smart phone.
• Learners are advised to download and install the Zoom application in their devices for this purpose and secure a reliable internet service in advance to enable access to the live virtual class.
• Throughout the course, learners can see and interact with the tutor and with other learners. Group interaction enhances learning; learners learn from one another as well as from the tutor.
• Our live virtual class provides practical, flexible and convenient ways of learning, designed to fit around you and your needs.
• Learners are able to drop questions on the chat box in group or private chat the Tutor and learners can also request to ask questions while the training is going on.
• Daily take-home assignment will be posted in chat box and on the group WhatsApp which will be reviewed by the tutor at the beginning of each day’s tutorial.
• There will be workbook and course workbook which will be completed by learners and submitted for tutor’s evaluation.
• A revision class and a mock examination will be arranged to prepare learners for the final examination.

Corporate Classes

• Organizations that are sponsoring learners to join our physical classroom, virtual classroom or distance learning program will have to pay the corporate course fees.
• We can also arrange an executive package for organizations that desire a top-class welfare package for their employees.
• We can visit your workplace and deliver the course at a time and place to suit you in the form of in-company training.
• This is an effective way of training several delegates at the same time, saving on time and travel costs. The biggest benefit of in-company training is the location.
• Organizing training off-site can be difficult for some employers, especially if you have a large team to get through a course. On-site training means less travel time and are much more convenient for your employees.
• Hosting a course, yourself also means last minute changes can be made to attendees. For example, if someone suddenly becomes free to complete some training, at least they will be in the right place already. 
• You may want to do this so that lessons tie in with your own policies and procedures, or even just change the learning pace to suit your employee's schedules.
