ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Safeguard RTL strongly insist that only learners who have undertaken and are successful in the NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate should enroll for diploma program. The syllabus assumes that learners will have this level of prior learning.
NOTIONAL LEARNING HOURS
Unit ED1: 90 hours tuition and 40 hours private study Total: 119 hours
Unit IDEM2: 29 hours tuition and 72 hours private study Total: 112 hours
A programme of study therefore needs to be based around a minimum of 119 taught hours and approximately 112 hours of private study for an overall total of 231 Hours.
ASSESSMENTS
The qualification is divided into two units, each of which is assessed separately:
Managing environmental aspects: Unit ED1 is assessed by a three-hour written examination. Students choose to answer 5 out of 8 questions. Examination papers are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH.
Environmental regulation: Unit IDEM2 is assessed by a written assignment of approximately 8000 words, designed to test knowledge across the syllabus. The assignment is marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH.
Students must successfully complete both parts of the assessment (assignment and examination) within five years of the result declaration for the first unit successfully completed in order to achieve the qualification.

The IDEM2 Assignment must be submitted using the NEBOSH online assessment platform. The confirmed submission periods available are specified below:

Assessment Results
You will receive your results 50 working days after the submission date for your assessment. A unit certificate will be issued 20 working days after the notification date for each successful unit.
Once you have passed all two-unit assessments (ED1/IDEM2) your combined percentage mark will give your overall grade for the qualification (Distinction/Credit/Pass). A qualification parchment will be issued 20 working days after the results notification date for the third successful unit.
RE-SITTING UNIT(S)
You may re-sit a unit assessment if:
There is no limit to the number of times you can re-sit unit(s) within the five-year period. Re-sit marks are not capped. If you want to try to improve your grade in a Unit, you need to tell NEBOSH in writing within 20 working days of the declaration date of your successful unit.
ENROLMENT DURATION
You will have five years to complete your qualification. The five-year period starts from the date you passed your first successful unit (we call this the ‘declaration date’). Any unit that is five or more years old will not count towards the qualification and you will need to retake the unit(s) if you still want to complete the qualification.

Those who pass their NEBOSH International Diploma in Environmental Management are entitled to use the designatory letters IEnvDipNEBOSH.
Successful learners are invited to the annual NEBOSH Graduation and Awards Ceremony in the year following the successful completion of their award.
The International Environmental Diploma provides a sound basis for progression to MSc level: A number of UK universities offer MSc programs that accept the NEBOSH International Diploma in Environmental Management as a full or partial entry requirement.
Cash payment is not allowed. Payment in any convenient installment is allowed starting with a minimum of 50% of the total training fees before receipt of training materials, however candidate must complete payment in full 21 days before the first selected exam date.
