COURSE OVERVIEW

Developed with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the health and safety regulator for Great Britain, the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Managing Stress at Work aims to help you identify and reduce workplace stressors in order to create a positive, healthier workplace. Developed with the expertise of HSE’s organizational psychologists, this qualification will provide you with in-depth, best practice learning which will allow you to make an impact in your role by:

• Understanding the six key areas of work design which can cause stress
• Learning how to establish a framework to manage and address stress in your workplace
• Understanding how to identify early warning signs and provide support to individuals
• Learning about strategic interventions that address the root causes of stress in your organization

This qualification is suitable for anyone responsible for managing people or for managing workplace stress. This may include:

Through studying the qualification, individuals will undertake in-depth, best practice learning from which they will understand the six key areas of work design and how to identify warning signs and implement strategic interventions.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN?

The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Managing Stress at Work aims to help you understand the key principles of work-related stress and its relationship to mental ill health issues. Beyond this you will learn:

• How to recognize the causes and effects of workplace stress
• The responsibilities of employers and individual roles in managing workplace stress
• How to apply the HSE’s Management Standards approach to assess stress risks in the workplace
• How to develop suitable interventions to address stressors, reduce negative impacts, and manage the effects of stress in the workplace

EXAMINATION

Examination registration

Learners must be registered before they can take an examination. All examination registrations must be completed by Safeguard RTL as the accredited learning partner.

Examination entry confirmation

Once we have registered you to a NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety examination, NEBOSH will send you a Confirmation of Registration email that includes your learner number, and important information relating to your examination. Please ensure that you check your name is spelt correctly and report this to your us if any changes are required. If you have not received this email, please remember to check your spam folders.

Login details

Following receipt of your Confirmation of Registration email, NEBOSH will send you a further email containing your Username and Password for the NEBOSH online examination platform. If you have not received this email, please remember to check your spam folders. If you have previously sat an online examination with NEBOSH, you will not receive new a new login. You will be able to access the online examination platform using your previous login details.

Examination Format

Unit MSW1: :is a taught unit, assessed by a 1-hour multiple-choice assessment.

Examination Results

You will receive your results within 24 working days of sitting the examination. Once you have achieved a pass a qualification parchment will be issued. This is normally within 20 working days of the confirmation of the successful unit.

NOTIONAL LEARNING HOURS

You should plan your study around a minimum of 7 taught hours and approximately 3 hours of private study.

ASSESSMENTS

The Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence is made up of one unit: Unit HSL1: Health and safety leadership

• Unit HSL1 is a taught unit, assessed by an on the day assessment which includes a leadership intervention that the student is planning to undertake
• The assessments will be marked by the accredited course provider and will be in the form of reflective statements undertaken throughout the course.

RE-SITTING UNIT(S)

Candidates must achieve a 'Pass' in Unit MSW1 to pass the qualification. A candidate can re-sit if a 'Refer' result is received. Candidates must register and pay the current fee by the registration closing date

There is no time restriction for passing the Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence as this is a one-unit qualification.

Candidates are required to complete all parts of the assessment to achieve a Pass. If the student does not achieve a Pass the accredited course provider is expected to work with the student to enable them to meet the required standard.

The only grades available for this qualification are Pass and Refer.

A candidate can re-sit if a 'Refer' result is received. There is no limit on the number of times a candidate can re-sit the unit. Candidates must register and pay the current fee by the registration closing date

PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION

Cash payment is not allowed. Payment in any convenient instalment is allowed starting with a minimum of 50% of the total training fee before receipt of training materials, however candidate must complete payment in full 3 days before class start date. 

To register, make payment, then fill and return the Registration Form and the Joining Agreement in addition to your Evidence of Payment and scanned copy of Valid Photo ID (such as International Passport, Driver’s License or National Identity Card) to: safeguardcentre@gmail.com (for Nigeria Learners) or to safeguardsafety.international@gmail.com (for international learners).

Once payment is confirmed, you will receive an acknowledgment including an e-receipt and other details about the training including the training materials.

You can join our NEBOSH WEL Virtual Classroom or the distance learning program from any location globally and write your Practical Risk Assessment from the comfort of your home and workplace without the need to travel out of your location.

Training Modes

Physical Classroom

• Safeguard physical classroom study allows you to get away from the distractions from workplaces and homes to enable concentrate on your training until completion.
• It provides learners a great opportunity to condense their study within the training the days compared to our Distance Learning Program which can be studied over a relatively longer period.
• The classroom setting allows learners to learn in our safe, quiet, clean multi-media training laboratory, away from the noise and pressures of their work or their homes.
• Again, learners could be large which allows the classroom environment to provide the important “human touch” that teaches learners how to interact physically with one another in a professional, productive and cooperative way which is often missing in distance learning program.
• The course fee cover training materials, tutorials, revision class, mock examination, main examination, in addition to tea break and lunch break.

Live Virtual Classroom

• If you have the time for classroom study but you are not available to join our classroom session due to distance or location, then our Live Virtual Class is your best alternative.
• Our live virtual class is easy to follow and can be completed within the same time as the physical classroom. Learners can join remotely and learn ‘live’ online with a tutor just as they would in a classroom.
• You get all the benefits of structured classroom learning but with the convenience of the digital world, studying where you like. Our learners can remotely join the virtual class from any location in the world through live video conferencing with the Zoom Technology using a PC, laptop, tablet or a smart phone.
• Learners are advised to download and install the Zoom application in their devices for this purpose and secure a reliable internet service in advance to enable access to the live virtual class.
• Throughout the course, learners can see and interact with the tutor and with other learners. Group interaction enhances learning; learners learn from one another as well as from the tutor.
• Our live virtual class provides practical, flexible and convenient ways of learning, designed to fit around you and your needs.
• Learners are able to drop questions on the chat box in group or private chat the Tutor and learners can also request to ask questions while the training is going on.
• Daily take-home assignment will be posted in chat box and on the group WhatsApp which will be reviewed by the tutor at the beginning of each day’s tutorial.
• There will be workbook and course workbook which will be completed by learners and submitted for tutor’s evaluation.
• A revision class and a mock examination will be arranged to prepare learners for the final examination.

Corporate Classes

• Organizations that are sponsoring learners to join our physical classroom, virtual classroom or distance learning program will have to pay the corporate course fees.
• We can also arrange an executive package for organizations that desire a top-class welfare package for their employees.
• We can visit your workplace and deliver the course at a time and place to suit you in the form of in-company training.
• This is an effective way of training several delegates at the same time, saving on time and travel costs. The biggest benefit of in-company training is the location.
• Organizing training off-site can be difficult for some employers, especially if you have a large team to get through a course. On-site training means less travel time and are much more convenient for your employees.
• Hosting a course, yourself also means last minute changes can be made to attendees. For example, if someone suddenly becomes free to complete some training, at least they will be in the right place already. 
• You may want to do this so that lessons tie in with your own policies and procedures, or even just change the learning pace to suit your employee's schedules.
